Background
TARTA and the Arts Commission of Greater Toledo have partnered with representatives of Bowling Green State University and The University of Toledo to provide the opportunity for local artists to encourage the community's exposure and appreciation for the arts through the artistic enhancement of buses, bus shelters and stops throughout TARTA's service area.

The program objective is to invite the public, schools,businesses and local agencies to participate in expanding the visual, literary and musical arts throughout the region.

Purpose
To provide a format for public participation of input for new construction and renovation projects using funds from the annual 1% federally-mandated Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for transit enhancement projects.

Goals
To provide opportunities for collaboration of the public—schools, businesses & local agencies—to enhance buses, bus shelters and bus stop areas with community arts, landscaping, sign destinations, etc.

TARTA has partnered with the Arts Commission of Greater Toledo (ACGT) to make these enhancements a reality with all of our communities.
